What is Reiki, and what benefits does it offer?
Reiki (ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning ‘universal life energy’.
It is a non-invasive treatment and is based on the idea that life force energy flows through us. When this energy flows uninterrupted, there is a balance and harmony within and around us, and we experience a sense of well-being. Reiki is used holistically to restore balance in mind, body and spirit while promoting the body’s regenerative self-healing ability.
A Reiki therapy treatment can be carried out in person or by what is called “distance Reiki therapy”.
In distance Reiki therapy, I, as the practitioner, act as a conduit and tune the healing energy to you. Then the energy flows through the energy currents that exist naturally. Distance is not an obstacle for Reiki in the same way that it isn’t for cell phones or the internet.
How would a Distance Reiki Therapy Session take place?
I would connect with you using a convenient method, such as Skype or Zoom. You will then still be able to see and hear me. You would be able to be in the comfort of your own home, and you could choose whether you are sitting or lying down in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.
In-Person Reiki Therapy Sessions
During a Reiki in-person session, you would either lay on a couch or sit in a chair fully clothed. I would not need to physically touch you as the healing session can be performed with the hands just above the body, and it is just as effective as a hands-on treatment or a Reiki distance session.
