The Coaching programme with Mel Wellard has had a huge impact on the entire Senior Leadership Team. Through the use of our “Insights” profiles and one to one sessions with Mel, we have gained a deeper understanding of ourselves and each others management styles. This has resulted in greatly improved communication with each other and an overall improvement in our management skills. We feel more empowered to use a range of management techniques to deal with various situations such as dealing with conflict effectively, challenging aggressive parents, and tackling staffing issues. This has generally led to more effective leadership throughout the Academy.
I would definitely recommend Mel to other Senior Leaders. Mel has a vast amount of knowledge and experience and draws upon these to relate to everyday work and life situations. However, be prepared to have your thoughts challenged (this is always done in a positive way) Mel has supported me to develop both professionally and personally and I cannot thank her enough.
